Ursula Reuter Christiansen Danish, b. 1943
Born in Trier, Germany, in 1943, Ursula Reuter Christiansen graduated from Akademie der Künste in Düsseldorf in 1969 where she studied under professor Joseph Beuys. She was married to the Danish composer Henning Christiansen (1932-2008), and in 1969 they settled down together in Askeby on the Danish island, Møn, where Ursula Reuter Christiansen still lives and works today. Reuter Christiansen worked as a professor at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg from 1992-97 and a professor of painting at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1997-2006. Furthermore, she and Henning Christiansen represented Denmark at the Venice Biennale in 2001.
